Guwahati: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport had a great month in June 2023 as nearly 5 lakh passengers traveled through the airport. This is a big increase compared to the same month last year.
Out of the total number of passengers, around 2,95,000 were departing travelers, while the rest were arriving passengers. This shows a 15% increase compared to June of the previous year.

The most popular domestic destinations from Guwahati were Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bangalore. For international travel, passengers mainly flew to Singapore and Paro.
The airport also had a busy month in terms of flights, with approximately 4,000 flight movements recorded in June 2023. This is higher than the number of flights in June 2022.
Guwahati Airport experienced a record footfall of almost 5 lakhs passengers in May 2023, indicating a recovery in air travel after the challenges of the pandemic.
Looking ahead, the airport is optimistic about continued growth during the upcoming winter schedule, starting from October. It is expected that more passengers will choose to travel during the winter season. The authorities are anticipating a strong surge in passenger numbers during this time.
