ONGC Assam Asset Shines at Mines Safety Award 2024

Nazira: The ONGC Assam Asset has been awarded two prestigious accolades at the Mines Safety Award (MSA) 2024, held on July 28 at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata. This significant event, organized by the All India Mines Safety Association (AIMSA) under the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), aims to promote best practices and elevate safety standards across India’s mining industry.

In the Oil Mines-Medium category, the Rudrasagar Production Oil Mine of the Assam Asset clinched the first prize, while the Lakwa Production Oil Mine secured the second prize. These awards underscore the Assam Asset’s dedication to maintaining exemplary safety protocols in its operations.

The awards were presented by Prabhat Kumar, Director General of DGMS, and P M Prasad, Chairman of Coal India Limited, to the Assam Asset team. The team included ED-Asset Manager Rajesh Tiwary, GGM-Surface Manager Bhaskar Chowdary Nettem, CGM-ASM/Head-AHSE Gautam Das, CE-IM-GGS2 RDS Deepak Kumar Mishra, RE Lakwa GGS1 Nilesh Gaikwad, and Technician (Production) WMI Manash Jyoti Borthakur.

The recognition highlights the continuous efforts of the Assam Asset to implement best practices and uphold high safety standards in its operations. Representatives from the Oil and Gas, Coal, and Metal sectors participated in this prestigious event, which recognized a total of 45 award-winning mines across various categories, including Oil and Gas, Underground Coal, Opencast Coal, Underground Metal, and Opencast Metal.

The Mines Safety Awards (MSA) 2024 stands as a milestone in promoting a culture of safety within the mining industry, encouraging all stakeholders to strive for excellence in their safety practices.
