Ramen Deka, a seasoned leader from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam, has been appointed as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh. The announcement was made on Saturday.
Deka, born on March 1, 1954, has a distinguished political career. He served as a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha, representing the Mangaldoi constituency, in 2009 and was re-elected in 2014. He has also held the position of President of the BJP Assam Pradesh.

Currently, the 70-year-old Deka is the National Secretary of BJP. His political journey began in 1980, and he has remained an active and influential figure in Assam’s political landscape.
