Sonapur: The 1st Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Sonapur, Assam, has launched a significant plantation drive under the Amrit Brikshya Andolan 2024. This initiative, spearheaded by the Government of Assam, aims to plant 3 crore saplings between August 1, 2024, and August 15, 2024.

The plantation drive was inaugurated by the 1st Bn SSB Sonapur and Sandiksha members, symbolizing women’s empowerment and their role in nurturing the environment. The event emphasized the importance of plantation and encouraged participants to care for the planted saplings as they would their own children, promoting environmental conservation.
Local residents actively participated in the drive, contributing to the plantation of 830 saplings. This collaborative effort highlights the community’s commitment to environmental sustainability and conservation.
