NDRF Swiftly Responds to Mizoram Bridge Collapse, Rescues 3 and Recovers 22 Bodies

A tragic incident unfolded at the under-construction Railway Bridge in Sairang, Aizawl, Mizoram. The bridge suddenly collapsed, with 26 laborers working on the site. The news prompted an immediate response from the 1st Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

Led by Inspector Ajay Kumar Yadaw from the 5th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) in Lungverh, Aizawl, the NDRF team swiftly arrived at the accident site to initiate a search and rescue operation. Collaborating with other agencies, they worked tirelessly to recover the bodies of 22 victims and rescue three seriously injured individuals. Despite their collective efforts, one person remains missing.

The unfortunate incident occurred in the Sairang area, approximately 21 kilometers away from Aizawl, and cast a somber shadow over the construction site.
