Boomba Ride’s’ Joy Ride Continues

‘Boomba Ride’, a Mishing language film made in Assam, continues to enthral the audience and the judges alike as it was declared the Best Mishing Language Film at the 69th National Film Awards, the results of which were declared on August 24, 2023.
The award and the recognition the film has received have not only made the makers happy, but they have also brought laurels to the state film industry as well.

Produced by Luit Kumar Barman and directed by Biswajit Bora of ‘Raktabeez’ fame, ‘Boomba Ride’ has also travelled to various national and international film festivals, where it has received rich accolades.
The movie was also screened at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2022.
Sharing his feelings on social media, producer Barman said, “Since 2014, I have believed that one day I would win a national award. Despite others making fun of it, I was determined to show my hard work. I learned this from my father, and today, I remember him with gratitude.”
The 69th National Film Awards were declared on August 23, 2023.
‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ won the award for Best Feature Film and ‘Sardar Udham’ was adjudged the Best Hindi Film.
While Allu Arjun won the best actor award for the Telugu film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, Alia Bhat and Kriti Sanon won the award for best actress, respectively, for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi and ‘Mimi”.
At the age of 90, legendary Assamese actor Kulada Kumar Bhattacharjee won the award for Best Narration/Voice Over for the documentary ‘Hati Bondhu’.
‘Anur’, directed by Monjul Baruah, won the Rajat Kamal Award for the Best Assamese Film.
