IASST Guwahati Hosts Industry-Academia Conclave


Guwahati: The Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), located in Paschim Boragaon, Guwahati, organized an Industry-Academia Conclave on Technology Transfer on March 4th, 2024. The event aimed to foster collaboration between academia and industry to accelerate innovation, commercialization, and the adoption of advanced technologies for societal betterment.

The conclave, inaugurated online by Professor Ashis Kr: Mukherjee, Director of IASST, brought together a diverse group of professionals, including researchers, academicians, industry leaders, and students. Prof. Mukherjee emphasized the significance of technology transfer and cross-border innovation in developing technologies for societal impact.

The panelists included experts from various fields, such as Prof. Pradeep Srivastav and Dr. Sangeet Nagar from FTIFAC-New Delhi, Dr. Harikrishna Varma and Dr. Roy Joseph from SCTIMST-Kerala, Prof. R N Singh from Himalayan Biochemie Herbs, Dehradun, and Dr. Sourav Majumdar from Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd., Pune, along with an academic expert from Tezpur University, Assam.

The conclave provided a platform for discussions on achieving the goals of the government of India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative, aiming to unite experts from academia and industry to translate innovative research into practical applications.
