Dudhnoi: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal laid the foundation stone for Assam’s second Ayurvedic College in Dudhnoi. Additionally, Sonowal virtually inaugurated two 50-bedded Ayush hospitals in Kokrajhar and Baksa.

The new Ayurvedic College, with an estimated cost of ₹70 crores, is expected to become a hub for academic activities, research, and patient care in Ayurveda. The college will offer undergraduate courses with provisions for postgraduate studies and will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including research laboratories and herbal gardens.

Speaking at the event, Minister Sonowal highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening the Ayush sector and promoting holistic healthcare. He emphasized the importance of integrating traditional medicine with modern practices to achieve the vision of a healthy Bharat.

The Ministry of Ayush has allocated ₹139.11 crores to Assam for Ayush initiatives, including the establishment of integrated hospitals and dispensaries. The recently opened Integrated Ayush Hospital in Dudhnoi has already provided treatment to thousands of patients since its inception in July 2023.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Assam’s Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Keshab Mahanta, and the Chief Executive Member of Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, Tankeswar Rabha, among others.
