Ex-Servicemen Rally Unites Veterans in Manipur

Manipur: The Red Shield Division of Spear Corps orchestrated an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally at Kaprang in Churachandpur District of Manipur on March 4, 2024, fostering camaraderie and support among veterans.

Continuing their outreach to veterans, the Indian Army organized the ESM Rally in Kaprang, following similar events in Bishnupur and Senapati. The rally drew an impressive turnout, with 878 veterans, 11 Veer Naris, 132 widows, and 44 dependents in attendance. Additionally, the presence of 09 war veterans from the 1965 war, 154 veterans from the 1971 war, and numerous Kargil war Gallantry awardees added to the event’s significance.

Maj Gen SS Kartikeya, SM, GOC, Red Shield Division, graced the occasion as the chief guest, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the veterans and their families for their unwavering sacrifices and dedication to the nation.

The rally’s primary focus was to assist the ESM community in addressing pension documentation issues and other concerns. Dedicated assistance booths were set up to provide support and guidance on various matters, including healthcare, pension anomalies, and ECHS Polyclinic services. The event echoed with patriotic chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Tagra Raho,” evoking memories of the veterans’ illustrious service to the nation.
