Four Detained in Exam Cheating Scandal in Dhemaji


Dhemaji: Four individuals have been detained in Jonai, Dhemaji district on February 19, following their alleged involvement in a cheating scandal that unfolded during the ongoing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination.

The incident occurred at Murkongselek Girls’ High School in Jonai on the day of the Social Science examination. Reports indicate that the school’s watchman, who temporarily left the premises to fetch tea, was discovered in possession of chits upon his return.

Speaking to the media, the watchman stated, “Chits were placed on my scooty by some boys.”

According to media sources, the police have arrested four individuals, including a teacher identified as Padma Kuli and Liladhar Payeng from the collegiate school, in connection with the case.
