Guwahati: In a heartbreaking incident, a young woman, Mousumi Gogoi, lost her life after being brutally attacked by a man who had allegedly been harassing her for months.
The assault occurred on Thursday morning while Mousumi was on her way to work. Despite being rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), she succumbed to her injuries.
Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh confirmed the incident on social media platform X, stating, “The assailant has been detained.”
The tragic incident at Nahorni Path has shocked the local community, raising concerns about women’s safety in the city.
