Guwahati : Samagra Shiksha, Assam, recently organized a state-level residential training program for its first batch of Master Trainers on life skill education, taking place from September 27-30, 2023, in Guwahati. This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020, aiming to foster activity-based, experiential learning among adolescent students to improve their resilience and academic performance.
The training was conducted in collaboration with Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF). In the first batch, 145 master trainers from various parts of the state successfully completed the program. Following this training, these master trainers will impart their knowledge to one nodal teacher from each upper primary, secondary, and higher secondary school in Assam, enabling the implementation of an activity-based life skill curriculum across the state.
Furthermore, Samagra Shiksha, Assam, in partnership with SCERT, SEBA, and MBIF, has developed a State Curriculum Framework on Life Skills, set to be implemented in all government schools at the upper primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels.
