‘Rong’ Wins 8 Awards Ahead of August 14 Release
Guwahati: Borluit Productions, a film production company in Guwahati, announces the release of their acclaimed Assamese short film, ‘Rong (The Colour)’, on August 14. The film has already achieved significant success, securing 11 official selections and winning 8 prestigious awards at international film festivals.

Directed and edited by Nekib Ahmed, with a powerful story and screenplay by Anjan Kaushik Sharma, ‘Rong (The Colour)’ explores profound themes showcasing India’s diverse culture. The film features a talented cast including Ankur Baidya, Imran Hussain, Pritam Jyoti Das, and Manisha Kashyap. Cinematography by Manabjyoti Kalita, a background score by Debajit Brahma, and production by Jekib Ahmed enhance the film’s narrative.
The film has won Best Short Film at the Triloka International Filmfare Awards 2023, Special Jury Award at Kollywood International Film Festival 2023, and Best Indian Short Film at Indo Dubai International Film Festival 2024, among others. It received honorable mentions at the Indo French International Film Festival 2023 and Greece International Film Festival 2024.
