Guwahati : In a significant achievement, all three offices of the Kamrup Metropolitan District Transport Officer in Guwahati have achieved record revenue collection within the state during the first six months of the current financial year 2023-24, from April 1 to September 30.

According to Gautam Das, assistant transport commissioner with additional charge of the district transport officer’s office (registration and licensing), the revenue collected during this period reached Rs 210,47,42,232. This marks a substantial increase compared to the same period in the previous financial year, where revenue collected was Rs 163,45,64,889. In essence, there has been a revenue growth of 29 percent, surpassing Rs 47 crore.
The breakdown of revenue collection shows the office of the District Transport Officer (Registration and Licensing) collecting Rs 195,69,79,981, the office of the District Transport Officer (promoter) collecting Rs 13,87,77,151, and the regional transport authority collecting Rs 89,85,100. This achievement reflects effective revenue management by these offices.
