LGBI Airport Honors Frontline Staff During International Housekeepers and Environmental Services Week

Guwahati : The LGBI Airport in Guwahati celebrated International Housekeepers and Environmental Services Week from September 10 to September 16. The week-long event aimed to recognize and appreciate the hardworking frontline staff who often go without the praise they deserve.

The opening ceremony took place on September 10, marked by the lighting of a lamp. Throughout the week, various activities such as carrom, chess, musical chairs, spoon race, needle and thread, and blindfold competitions were organized for both male and female categories.

The champions of these competitions were announced as Ranju Thakuria, Ashok Das, Munmi Basfore, Bhabesh Kalita, Jonali Das, Jhon Das, Namita Bhuyan, and Mukut Ali. The second-place winners included Khanin km. Nath, Suraj Shah, Sumitra Basfore, Namita Bhuyan, Lakhi Boro, Tulashi Baishya, Kiran Basfore, and Anju Das.

The closing ceremony, held on September 16, was attended by CAO Utpal Baruah and more than 100 airport staff. During this event, prizes were distributed to the respective winners, and special recognition was given to all senior staff who have dedicated more than 20 years of service.

Baruah, in his introductory speech, expressed his gratitude to all the housekeeping staff, acknowledging that the airport’s cleanliness and beauty were a result of their hard work and dedication.
