Guwahati Wins JK Barooah U-19 Inter-District Tournament Final

In an exciting match at the Barpeta DSA Stadium, Guwahati emerged as the victors in the JK Barooah U-19 Inter-District Tournament, 2023-24 final, defeating Barpeta by 38 runs.

Choosing to field after winning the toss, Barpeta performed well in limiting Guwahati to 212/10 in 47.3 overs. The standout for Guwahati was Aditya Roy Chowdhury, scoring an impressive 76 runs in 105 balls. Diwiz Pathak added a valuable 46 runs in 59 balls. Himanshu Saraswat led Barpeta’s bowling with 4/28, while Dipankar Paul contributed 2/35.

In response, Barpeta displayed resilience but fell short, managing 174/10 in 48.5 overs. Top scorer for Barpeta was Dipankar Paul with 36 runs in 40 balls, followed by Ranjan Bikash Das with 22 runs in 23 balls. Guwahati’s Ronit Akhtar shone as the star bowler, taking 3/43, and Ram Kishan Sharma chipped in with 2/20.

Aditya Roy Chowdhury deservedly received the Player of the Final award for his outstanding batting.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including BCCI Joint Secretary Devajit Saikia, ACA Secretary Tridib Konwar, ACA Joint Secretary Rajendra Singh, Treasurer Chiranjit Langthasa, ACA CEO Pritam Mahanta, ACA Apex Council Member Anupam Deka, Barpeta DSA President Gunindra Nath Das, Barpeta DSA Secretary Sanatan Das, and Chairman Senior Tournament Committee Sankar Dutta Lahkar, among others.
