Guwahati : A significant amount of heroin was found in Jorabat, Guwahati on Septeber 10. A team from both Central and East Guwahati Police districts joined forces to make this discovery. So far, 198 soap packets have been recovered.

Three individuals from Manipur, aged 31, 29, and 34, named Md. Amir Khan, Md. Yakup, and Md. Jamir, were apprehended in connection with this discovery. The suspected heroin seized is worth around ₹21 Crore.
The seized narcotics consist of 198 soap boxes believed to contain heroin, weighing a total of 2.527 Kg.
