Guwahati: An inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the water pipe burst incident in Rajgarh, Guwahati. Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary, Pabitra Ram Khaund, has been assigned the responsibility to probe the incident. The committee will submit its report within three days, as stated by Minister Ashok Singhal.
Minister Singhal also announced that the water pipelines in the city will undergo hydro-testing once again. During this period, water supply will continue under low pressure to minimize inconvenience to the public. Expert technical units from IIT Guwahati and other parts of the country will be deployed promptly to inspect the safety of the city’s water transmission pipelines.
In connection with the drinking water pipe blast at Rajgarh, near Guwahati Commerce College, Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Ashok Singhal, held an emergency meeting with senior officials of the Guwahati Jal Board at Janata Bhawan on June 12.
It is important to note that a water pipe burst occurred in Guwahati’s Rajgarh area on the afternoon of June 12. Previously, a woman lost her life due to a similar incident in the Kharguli area of the city.
