Guwahati: A Women’s Exhibition Cricket Match was played between Team Kanaklata and Team Bhogeswari and the Winners was awarded with Soti Joymoti Trophy at Judge’s Field, Guwahati.
Organized by the District Hub for Empowerment of Women under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan, in collaboration with Optimista and with the technical support of the Guwahati Sports Association, the match aimed to promote sports among women and girls in the region.

The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, with Queen Oja, Member of Parliament, as the Chief Guest and inaugurating the Exhibition Match. Joining her was Devajit Saikia, Advocate General of Assam and Joint Secretary of BCCI, who attended as a Special Guest. Also in attendance were Abhijit Sinha, Additional Director of the Child and Women’s Development Department, Govt of Assam, Gautam Majumdar, Joint Secretary of the Child and Women’s Development Department, Govt of Assam, and Paresh Chandra Das, President of the Guwahati Sports Association, who graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.
In the Closing Ceremony, Uma Chetri, an acclaimed International Cricketer, was felicitated for her remarkable contributions to the sport. The game was held in conjunction with Women’s Day with the aim of encouraging and promoting sports among women and girls.
