Guwahati : A female Assam Police constable posted in Guwahati who went missing on Monday evening.
While her disappearance was initially linked to the eviction drive at Silsako in Guwahati last week, DCP (administration) issued a press statement clarifying that she was not assigned to the eviction drive. It was initially alleged that she went missing after being assigned to the eviction drive against her will.

According to the press statement, constable Juri Baishya informed the Paltanbazar police station that her roommate, Hazarika, posted at the Paltanbazar police station, couldn’t be contacted since 6 pm on that day. Baishya also mentioned that Hazarika was suffering from serious health issues and was depressed.
A police team found Hazarika’s mobile phone, spectacles, and footwear on the old Saraighat Bridge, which were later identified as belonging to her. The city police clarified that no suicide note has been discovered thus far.
