Guwahati: Assam down town University (AdtU) hosted its 11th Annual Job Fair and 1st Internship Fair at its Panikhaiti campus. The event was organized by the university’s Directorate of Career Advancement Cell.
Final-year students and young professionals with up to five years of experience attended the event. Many national and international companies took part, offering jobs in healthcare, IT, education, manufacturing, consulting, retail, and service sectors. Some of the top recruiters included Apollo Hospitals, HDFC ERGO, Amul, Piramal Swasthya, SBI Life, Adani Airport, Quess Corp, NH Group, Bharti Airtel, Indigai, DTDC Limited, Amrit Cement, and Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd.
Throughout the day, job seekers took part in on-the-spot interviews, resume screenings, and career counseling sessions. They also interacted with HR professionals and learned about the job market.
For the first time, the university also held an Internship Fair aimed at current students. This new step supports the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which focuses on giving students real-world experience early in their studies.
Prof. (Dr.) Narayan Chandra Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of AdtU, said, “We want our students to not only earn degrees but also find real opportunities. Events like this help students get ready for the job market.”
Dr. Rimjhim Baruah Borah, Director (i/c) of the Career Advancement Cell, said, “We saw great participation from both companies and students. The Internship Fair helps students gain early work experience and build their careers from the start.”
