Guwahati: The Assam Cabinet has approved the construction of a new flyover extending from Cycle Factory junction to Lal Ganesh Market on Guwahati-Garbhanga Road. The decision, reached during the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday, allocates a budget of Rs. 376.11 crore for the ambitious project.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the upcoming flyover at the Cycle Factory Junction over Guwahati-Garbhanga Road.

The comprehensive project includes the construction of the flyover, approaches with reinforced earth walls, service roads, drainage work, development of parking areas, restoration of existing roads, and road safety measures. The flyover is strategically designed to benefit commuters from Lokhra, Sarusajai, ISBT, Betkuchi, Garchuk, Jalukbari, Lal Ganesh, and Odalbakra, providing a smoother traffic flow towards the city center.

This infrastructure initiative underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and addressing traffic challenges for the convenience of the public.
