Sonapur : A sad incident happened in Sonapur when a wild elephant was hit by a train on Thursday. This happened near the Digaru railway station at a place called Kurkuria.
The elephant had come out from a nearby place called Amchang Wildlife Sanctuary, maybe looking for food. It was trying to cross the railway tracks when the train hit it in the early morning.

People living nearby told the forest doctors, who came quickly to help the hurt elephant. But even though they tried very hard, the elephant could not survive and passed away after a few hours.
Local people did some special ceremonies for the elephant and then buried it.
This sad thing reminds us that we need to be more careful to keep animals safe and prevent accidents like this.
