Two-Day Training Concludes at Rainforest Institute in Jorhat

Jorhat: The Rainforest Research Institute in Jorhat successfully concluded a two-day training program on ‘Advanced Forestry Garden, Planting Management, and Forest Seed Technology’ on June 22 and 23, 2023. The training saw active participation from numerous officials and staff members of the Assam Forest Department. Among the attendees were six officials from the Basistha forest department office in Guwahati and eight officials from Jorhat.

The training commenced with a warm welcome from Rajiv Kumar Kalita, a scientist at the institute. On the first day, scientists Manish Kumar Singh and Biswanath Sharma provided comprehensive training on advanced sapling preparation, planting management, and seed technology. The participants actively engaged in hands-on practical exercises.

On the second day, senior scientist Rajiv Kumar Kalita conducted a session on Bamboo, enlightening the trainees about various aspects of bamboo-related activities, including bamboo coal, bamboo treatment, and bamboo handcuffs. The training concluded with the distribution of certificates to the trainees by the institute’s director, Rajeev Kumar Borah.
