Traffic Diversion on GS Road for Flyover Construction from March 3

Guwahati: The construction of the flyover near Downtown Hospital on GS Road will begin with steel girder launching and erection from midnight on March 3, 2025. To ensure public safety and smooth movement of emergency vehicles, traffic diversions will be in place at Six Mile, Downtown, and Supermarket from 11:30 PM to 4:30 AM daily until the work is completed.

Traffic Diversion Plan:

  1. GS Road closure: No vehicles will be allowed on GS Road between Six Mile Flyover and Downtown (both tracks) from 11:30 PM to 4:30 AM.
  2. Routes for vehicles from Khanapara:
    • Towards VIP Road/Panjabari/Jayanagar: Use the service road of Six Mile Flyover.
    • Towards Dispur: Take Jayanagar-Beltola Bazar-Beltola Survey-Last Gate using the service lane of Six Mile Flyover.
  3. Routes for vehicles from Panjabari, Sachal, and Ananda Nagar towards Dispur: Use Jayanagar-Beltola Bazar-Beltola Survey-Last Gate.
  4. Routes for Rukminigaon/Rukmininagar vehicles towards Dispur: Take Beltola-Survey Road or GNRC Dispur Road.
  5. Routes from Jayanagar towards Dispur: Use Beltola Bazar-Beltola Survey Road.
  6. Routes for vehicles from Ganeshguri towards Khanapara: Diversion at Supermarket Flyover towards Last Gate via Beltola-Basistha Road.
  7. Routes for vehicles from Ganeshguri towards Downtown/Six Mile: Use Supermarket Flyover service road, Downtown bylane, Dwarka Path, Ananda Nagar Path.
  8. Routes from Last Gate towards Downtown: Use Supermarket Flyover service road, Downtown bylane.
  9. No entry to GS Road from major bylanes like Purbanchal Path, Sun Valley Bylane, Downtown Bylane, Tongra Satra Road, Lakshmi Mandir Path, and Rukminigaon Bylane. Vehicles should use Dwarka Path, Ananda Nagar Path, Hengrabari Road, Swahid Dilip Hujuri Path, Beltola-Survey Road, or GNRC Dispur Road.
  10. Routes from Downtown towards Khanapara: Use VIP Road via Sachal/Ananda Nagar to reach GS Road.
  11. Routes from Downtown towards Dispur: Use Hengrabari Road or Swahid Dilip Hujuri Path.

The administration urges commuters to follow the diversions and plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
