Guwahati: The State Level Kala Utsav 2024, an initiative by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, and Samagra Shiksha, Assam, successfully concluded at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Panjabari, on November 22. The grand event celebrated the vibrant artistic talents of school students from across Assam, promoting the integration of arts in education.
Addressing the gathering, Minister of Education, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, highlighted the crucial role of arts in fostering holistic education. “Arts enhance creativity and critical thinking, contributing to the overall development of students. I congratulate all participants for their inspiring performances and commend the efforts of educators and organizers,” he said.
The event featured district-level winners who excelled in categories such as Vocal Music, Instrumental Music, Dance, Theatre, and Visual Arts. After a meticulous selection process that evaluated over 200 entries, five outstanding performers from each category competed at the state level.
The Kala Utsav provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity and connect with their cultural roots. Participants enthralled the audience with their exceptional skills, earning admiration for their dedication and talent.
The winners of the State Level Kala Utsav 2024 will represent Assam at the National Kala Utsav, taking their artistic journey to greater heights. The event reinforced the importance of arts in education, inspiring students to pursue their passions while contributing to the preservation and celebration of cultural heritage.
