Guwahati: NorthEast United FC and the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to boost football development in Arunachal Pradesh.
Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and APFA President, and John Abraham, owner of NorthEast United FC, signed the agreement. The partnership aims to develop football in the state using the technical expertise of NorthEast United FC.
Key leaders present at the event included Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, APFA Secretary Kipa Ajay, and NorthEast United FC CEO Mandar Tamhane.
Key Highlights of the Agreement
- Residential Academies Setup
- Two residential academies will be established at Golden Jubilee Stadium, Yupia, and Namsai.
- NorthEast United FC will provide guidance in coaching, recruitment, nutrition, player welfare, and academy operations.
- Scouting and Player Detection
- The club will implement its scouting methods and deploy its Head of Youth Development during the scouting process.
- Day Boarding Academies
- A structured training curriculum will be designed for U-7 to U-15 age groups.
- Youth Competitions
- The Baby League (U-7 & U-9) will expand into the Arunachal Pradesh Youth Premier League for U-11 to U-15 categories.
- Coach Education
- NorthEast United FC’s experts will contribute to coach education and help conduct Certificate Coaching Courses with AIFF’s support.
