Madrasa Student Arrested for Kidnapping Minor in Hojai, Assam

Guwahati, May 24 : The Hojai Police arrested a student from a Madrasa in Assam’s Hojai district for kidnapping a minor student from the same institute. The student carried out the abduction on Monday night. After a three-hour search operation, the Hojai police successfully rescued the abducted student. According to sources, the kidnapper demanded a ransom of five lakh rupees from the parents and issued threats if the money was not provided. Consequently, the victim’s father lodged an FIR at the police station. Hojai’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl SP), Pallab Tamuly, stated that they received information about the kidnapping of a student from Jalalia Madrasa in Hojai. He mentioned, “After a three-hour operation, we successfully rescued the abducted student.” Tamuly further added that the police arrested a student from the same Madrasa in connection with the case. The police are currently conducting an inquiry into the matter.
