Guwahati: The ferry services connecting Guwahati and North Guwahati have been temporarily halted due to the rising water levels in the Brahmaputra River.
The decision was taken by the Assam Inland Water Transport Department (IWT) on Monday to ensure passenger safety and prevent any potential accidents. The Brahmaputra River’s water level reached 105.72 meters on Sunday, leading to this precautionary measure.
