Addressing a press conference, Guwahati Commissioner of Police Diganta Barah revealed that the two primary accused, Biswajit Dey and Sabita Dey, were approached by a woman named Jelimon Begum, who was seeking a child in exchange for financial assistance due to their financial crisis.
Upon receiving information about the abduction, the police swiftly initiated action, leading to the successful rescue operation in Fatasil Ambari. Subsequently, three individuals were arrested in connection with the case, and during interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the kidnapping plan.
