Guwahati Airport Prepares for Monsoon with Preventive Measures

Guwahati: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) is gearing up to tackle the upcoming monsoon season with thorough preparedness and safety protocols, according to an official release on July 8.

With the arrival of the monsoon season in Guwahati, the airport anticipates potential challenges due to unpredictable rainfall patterns and the risk of recurring floods in low-lying areas surrounding the airport premises. However, LGBIA, under the dedicated leadership of its team, has implemented several plans and procedures to mitigate any disruptions to operations.

To ensure smooth functioning during heavy rainfall, the airport has deployed a dedicated workforce to clean drains at multiple locations on the airside and landside, including clearing blockages along the main drain on the SOS road.
