Guwahati: The government has introduced the ‘Digi Yatra’ system at Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport. This facility, a first in the northeast, was inaugurated by Assam’s Industries & Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary. He mentioned that waiting in long lines at the Guwahati airport will now be a thing of the past.
Union Civil Aviation Secretary Rajeev Bansal highlighted that Digi Yatra marks a new step in air travel within the country, with more improvements planned for the future. Passengers can use the Digi Yatra app to register their documents and gain entry to the airport by scanning their faces. The gate will open once the camera recognizes their face. This service will be available at the airport’s main points: the entrance, check-in, and boarding areas.
