Free Health Camp Organized at Senior Citizen’s Old Age Home in Guwahati

Guwahati: Sampoorna, an initiative of Deepjyoti India Foundation, Mumbai, dedicated to women’s empowerment and children’s welfare, organized a Free Health Camp and medical consultation at the Senior Citizen’s Old Age Home in Guwahati. The event aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the residents of the home and promote wellness among senior citizens.

Educators’ Meet In Guwahati Draws Over 260 Participants

The health camp commenced with an insightful speech by Dr. Amal Chandra Kataki, former Director of Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute, with support from Dr. Ardhendu Sen, Former Professor of Medicine at JMCH, and Dr. Nirmal Beria, Retired Joint Director of Health Services, Mangoldoi, Assam. The team of healthcare professionals included Dr. Kaushik Jagannath Kataki, Dr. Abhijit Sharma, and Mr. Rituraj Boruah.

First IVF Baby Born At Guwahati Medical College

Led by Amrita Borkotoky and Anubhuti Bhattacharya from Sampoorna, in collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals from Wintrobe Hospital, Guwahati, and Redcliffe Labs, the health camp provided free medical consultations and screenings. Services included vital signs measurements, blood pressure, and blood sugar checkups. Personalized consultations were offered to residents by doctors, social workers, nurses, and volunteers present at the event. Free medicines were distributed as per the doctor’s prescriptions.

In addition to medical services, a yoga session was conducted for the senior citizens at the old age home. The session emphasized the importance of movement and preventative care in maintaining overall health and well-being.
