Ex-Servicemen Reunion Rally Celebrates Success of Candidates in Assam

Guwahati: The Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, organized an Ex-Servicemen Reunion rally to honor 26 successful Ex-Servicemen candidates from Assam. The event, held to felicitate the candidates who secured positions through the 2% reservation of vacancies sanctioned by the Assam government, marked a significant milestone in their journey.

During the 25th Rajya Sainik Board meeting on May 13, 2022, the Assam government had approved the reservation of 2% vacancies in all departments for Ex-Servicemen. Subsequently, Ex-Servicemen candidates appeared for the APSC examination 2022 to avail the benefits of this reservation. The first batch of successful candidates is set to join the government on March 1, 2024.

Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Minister of GAD, Panchayat and Rural Development, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Govt of Assam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The rally saw a significant turnout of Ex-Servicemen Officers, JCOs, and Other Ranks, emphasizing the collective celebration of their achievements.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass urged the qualified candidates to uphold honesty, integrity, and efficiency in their roles, contributing positively to the administration of society. He also encouraged other Ex-Servicemen to strive for excellence and qualify for reserved vacancies in various departments of the State.

Brigadier Dinesh Chandra Mazumdar (Retd), Director of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam, expressed deep gratitude and appreciation for the support provided by the Government of Assam, underscoring the collaborative efforts to empower and recognize the contributions of Ex-Servicemen in the state.
