Guwahati: Under the esteemed guidance of Keshab Mahanta, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Medical Education & Research, etc., a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today at the NHM State Headquarters. Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Mission Director, National Health Mission Assam, and Najeeb Hazarika, Program Director, Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute, signed the MoU for the implementation of the Sanjeevani – Village Health Outreach Program services in Assam.
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal Launches Major Projects In Assam
This initiative aims to facilitate early identification of diseases through comprehensive health screening, followed by appropriate referral, follow-up, and provision of free medicines for the effective management of various health conditions. These include lifestyle and non-communicable diseases such as Diabetes, Hypertension, chronic ailments like TB, Asthma, as well as Antenatal Care (ANC) and Minor ailments. The program will operate through Mobile Medical Units and dedicated Health Teams stationed at pre-defined locations across the districts of Assam.
The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including Dr. Manoj Kumar Choudhury, Executive Director, NHM, Assam, Pritam Kumar Das, ACS – Zonal Administrative Officer, Jayanta Dutta, ACS – Zonal Administrative Officer, Dr. Dipjyoti Deka, SPM, NHM, Dr. Rahul Kumar Sarmah, SPO NCD, NHM, along with officials from Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute.
