The current meteorological conditions indicate a cyclonic circulation over North Bangladesh and neighboring areas, leading to moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal towards Assam due to southerly to southwesterly winds at lower levels.
As a result of these synoptic conditions, isolated to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected in Assam during the mentioned period. Moreover, isolated heavy rainfall is anticipated on 16th and 17th April 2024.

- 17th April 2024: Similar conditions to 16th April, with light to moderate rainfall expected at many places, along with isolated heavy rainfall over Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Sonitpur, Bishwanath, Majuli, and Dibrugarh districts. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected at isolated places across various districts.
- 18th April 2024: Light to moderate rainfall anticipated at many places, with thunderstorms and lightning expected at isolated places over districts including Jorhat, Majuli, Sibsagarh, Charaideo, Dibrugarh, and Tinsukia.
