Shillong: A vibrant cultural evening was hosted at Raj Bhavan Shillong to celebrate the Foundation Day of Uttar Pradesh, aligning with the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative by the Government of India. The event, graced by the Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, featured cultural performances and acknowledgments of Uttar Pradesh’s rich historical and spiritual heritage.
In his address, the Governor highlighted the profound significance of Uttar Pradesh as a hub of religion, art, literature, and culture. He emphasized its spiritual essence with holy places such as Ayodhya, Mathura, Kashi, and majestic rivers like Yamuna, Ganga, and Saryu.
The cultural evening showcased a mesmerizing Kathak performance by renowned dancer Sukanya Bora from Assam, accompanied by presentations from NEIAH students. The program, organized by Raj Bhavan, Shillong, in collaboration with the Department of Arts and Culture, Government of Meghalaya and ICCR Shillong, highlighted the cultural diversity and unity promoted by the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.
