Several parties and individuals protested in Biswanath on Tuesday, January 3. There have been protests in Biswanath demanding the cancellation of the decision taken by the State Cabinet of the Assam government on December 31, 2022, to abolish Biswanath district. Various party organisations of Biswanath have also taken up separate protests. Though the principles are different, today the purpose of the protest is only one for all. Protesters a sit-in program in Biswanath Nagar and held a protest in Biswanath Nagar by raising various anti-government slogans with anti-BJP government playcards in their hands.
