This mock drill followed the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), which asked all districts across India to conduct similar drills. The aim was to improve the country’s overall emergency response system.
The mock drill started at 4:00 PM and focused on how different departments and agencies work together during an emergency. Teams practiced handling air raid situations, rescuing civilians, controlling damage, and giving medical help. The drill tested the speed and coordination between the police, fire service, health staff, and others.

They help both the officials and the public learn how to act fast and correctly during disasters like war or air strikes. Today’s exercise has helped make Assam stronger in handling emergencies.”
Inspector General of Home Guards & Civil Defence, Arabinda Kalita, told people to stay alert during emergencies and help the administration when needed.
