Guwahati: Aam Aadmi Party’s Mahila Shakti, Yuva Shakti, Chhatra-Yuva Shakha, and district committees staged protests across Assam on Tuesday to voice their opposition to the price hike. They submitted separate memorandums to the Chief Minister through the District Commissioner.
The protest in Guwahati was held near the Hanuman temple at Ganeshguri, and the memorandum was submitted through the district commissioner. Spokesperson Rezia Sultana expressed concerns that the government has not taken sufficient measures to control the rising prices. She also criticized the government for resorting to communal politics and blaming a specific community for the price rise.
State Mahila Shakti President, Anurupa Boro, emphasized the urgency for government action on this matter. Ballabh Patra, President of AAP’s Kamrup City district committee, said that if prompt action is not taken, the agitation will intensify in the near future.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also held protests in various other parts of Assam to voice their opposition against the increasing prices.
