Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) launched the Mukti Rath mortuary van service today to provide free and dignified support to citizens during challenging times. The service, flagged off at Nehru Stadium, Paltan Bazar, by Mayor Mrigen Sarania, is supported by Federal Bank.

Mukti Rath offers a free mortuary van facility, reflecting GMC’s dedication to addressing critical community needs. The service aims to foster compassion and solidarity in the city.

The event was attended by Deputy Mayor Smita Roy, Commissioner Megh Nidhi Dahal, and other dignitaries. Citizens can access this service by calling +91 8811007000.

Mayor Sarania stated, “Mukti Rath is a step towards ensuring dignity and care in difficult times. It showcases our vision of a caring and supportive Guwahati.”

GMC expressed gratitude to Federal Bank for its partnership in this noble initiative and encouraged citizens to make use of this free facility.
