Tezpur: The Council for Teacher Education Foundation-Assam (CTEF-Assam) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tezpur College in Sonitpur district to promote academic and professional development activities.
The MoU was signed on September 29, 2026, at the auditorium of Tezpur College in the presence of teachers and students. CTEF International Secretary General and CTEF-Assam Chairman Prof Nilima Bhagabati and Tezpur College Principal Dr Manoj Kumar Hazarika signed the agreement.
The partnership will focus on academic and cultural activities, workshops, international seminars and symposiums. It will also support the development of best practices in the college, guidance and counselling services, joint publications, personality development programmes and career development workshops.
As part of the programme, Prof Nilima Bhagabati conducted a workshop on “Understanding Mental Health Wellness, Management and Sustainability”. A large number of students and teachers attended the session.
The workshop was inaugurated by Tezpur College Principal Dr Manoj Kumar Hazarika. He spoke about the growing need for such programmes and their importance in helping students and teachers understand mental health and wellbeing.
IQAC Coordinator of Tezpur College, Dr Rajalakshmi Sonowal, offered the vote of thanks. She expressed gratitude to everyone for their support and cooperation.
The Council for Teacher Education Foundation was established in 1985 in Bhopal. The organisation has 22 national chapters, including Assam, and works to improve teacher education and develop skilled teaching professionals.
CTEF-Assam was established in 2000. The organisation also works with various institutions and plans to expand its collaborative activities in South-East Asia in the future.
