Guwahati: Samagra Shiksha, Assam is helping students plan their future through its Career Counselling podcast series for classes IX to XII. The fourth episode aired on November 29, 2024, and featured Narayan Konwar, IAS, Secretary of the Department of School Education, Assam.
Konwar spoke about preparing for Civil Services exams. He cleared common doubts about exam mediums, explained the exam pattern, and gave tips on choosing the right coaching institute.
The session was streamed live on Tele-Education Classrooms, Smart Classrooms, YouTube, and Facebook, reaching 18,000 viewers. Konwar’s advice on perseverance and strategic preparation inspired students, who actively participated during the session.
Samagra Shiksha, Assam is also distributing tools like the Career Tree, a chart showing education paths, skills, and job options, to 8.6 lakh secondary students in 4,285 government schools. They also provide Career Guidance Table Books to help students achieve their dream careers. Over 4,326 teachers have been trained to guide students in career planning.
