Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term during a grand swearing-in ceremony held at the College of Veterinary Science playground in Khanapara on Tuesday.
Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr. Sarma in the presence of Narendra Modi and several senior leaders and ministers.
The Governor also administered the oath of office and secrecy to four ministers — Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro and Ajanta Neog.
Several prominent leaders attended the ceremony, including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, Sarbananda Sonowal and BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers from several states, foreign envoys and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
