Guwahati: A new Assamese feature film, Moromor Deuta, based on a popular literary work by noted Assamese writer Bhabendra Nath Saikia, is set for theatrical release on May 15, the makers announced.
The film has been adapted from one of Saikia’s widely read stories, which was originally published in the children’s magazine Saphura during 1989–90. The story is known for its emotional appeal and has continued to remain popular among readers across generations.
Directed by Himjyoti Talukdar, the film seeks to present the classic story with a contemporary cinematic approach.
Moromor Deuta has been produced by Mamata Mahilary.
