Tribute to Martyred CRPF Constable Lambadhar Singha in Guwahati Ceremony

Guwahati: A solemn wreath-laying ceremony was conducted today by the 175 Battalion, CRPF, Rani, to honor the sacrifice of Constable/GD Lambadhar Singha. Constable Singha, from the 150 Battalion, lost his life in an encounter with Naxalites on January 30, 2024, while establishing a new camp in Tekalgudium, Thana-Jagargunda, District-Sukma (Chhattisgarh).

Despite facing the armed group, Constable Singha displayed exceptional courage, making the ultimate sacrifice for his motherland. The encounter resulted in the potential elimination of 6-7 Naxalites, with several others injured. The CRPF mourns the loss of three brave soldiers in the incident.

Today, on February 1, 2024, a wreath-laying ceremony was organized at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport by the 175 Battalion, CRPF, Rani. Shri Anurag Aggarwal, IPS, Inspector General North Eastern Sector, CRPF, Shri Vivek Raj Singh, I.P.S., Inspector General, Assam Police, and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to the martyred soldier with full state honors. The ceremony was attended by officers, subordinate staff, and soldiers.

Following the ceremony, Shri Anurag Aggarwal, IPS, Inspector General, North Eastern Sector, CRPF, Shri Anil Kumar, Deputy Inspector General, CRPF, Range Guwahati, and Shri Rajeev Kumar Jha, Commandant-175 Battalion, CRPF, paid their respects to the departed Constable/GD Lambadhar Singha. The mortal remains were then transported to his hometown, Kakra, Bhatipara, District-Chirang, Assam, where the last rites were performed in accordance with the law.
