Guwahati: In a devastating road accident near the office of the West Deputy Police Commissioner at around 1 AM on May 29, seven students lost their lives in Jalukbari, Guwahati. The students were traveling from Jalukbari to Lokhra when the incident occurred.
According to reports, the students were traveling in a speeding four-wheeler that collided with a divider. The impact of the collision proved fatal for all the occupants of the vehicle. The victims were identified as Arindam Bhallal, Niyar Deka from Guwahati, Kausik Barua from Mangaldoi, Upangshu Sarma from Nagaon, Rajkiran Bhuyan from Majuli, Emon Gayan from Dibrugarh, and Kausik Mohan from Charaideo. It is heartbreaking to note that all of them were students of Jalukbari Engineering College. Authorities have initiated an investigation.
