Digboi: A devastating road mishap occurred in Golai area of Digboi, Tinsukia district on June 16, resulting in the loss of four lives. The incident took place at approximately 12:45 AM when a four-wheeler collided with a tree. The vehicle was carrying five passengers who were returning from a wedding in Dibrugarh to Ledu in Tinsukia.
Eyewitnesses recall hearing a loud noise around 12:30 to 12:45 AM and rushed to the scene. The local resident immediately informed the other loacl people and police, who arrived shortly after. Sadly, three victims lost their lives, while the remaining two were rushed to Dibrugarh for medical treatment. Tragically, one of them succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The lone survivor, Ratan Gope, is currently receiving treatment at the Assam Medical College and Hospital. The deceased individuals have been identified as Disha Gope, Subhash Gope, Sadhana Gope, and Amrit Dutta. Heartbreakingly, all of them were members of the same family.
