Guwahati Police Seize Rs 24.5 Lakhs in Fake Currency, One Arrested in Jorabat

Guwahati: In a major operation conducted by the Guwahati police, a staggering amount of Rs 24 lakhs and 50 thousand in counterfeit currency was seized at 8th Mile, near Ganesh Mandir, Jorabat on June 17. The police apprehended Ziabur Rahman, a 26-year-old resident of Dharmapur, Laluk, Lakhimpur district, in connection with the possession and circulation of the fake currency.

The seized currency comprises entirely of Indian Fake Currency in the denomination of Rs 500. The police have launched an investigation into the matter to uncover the source and network involved in the production and distribution of the counterfeit notes.
