Taking to his official handle on ‘X’, Abhishek posted, “Despite contesting NCHAC elections for the first time, @AITC4Assam managed a higher vote share than INC, the primary opposition.”
“One might say their seat share aspirations in Bengal are akin to aiming for the stars when they couldn’t quite grasp the ground in their own backyard!” he added.
The ruling BJP secured a victory in the NCHAC, maintaining control with 25 out of 30 seats in the council elections. The BJP’s overall vote share reached 55.52%. In contrast, the Congress failed to secure any seats in the NCHAC polls, with a vote share of 8.87%. Notably, the TMC, participating for the first time, obtained a significant 12.40% vote share in the contested seats.
